Mazu is one of the most important beliefs in Taiwan. She watches over all beings with a loving and protective image, like a mother gently caring for them, and protects this land and lives of its people.
Today, tens of thousands of devotees follow Mazu south and north each year, making it a major religious event that attracts national attention and is recognized as one of the Important Folk Customs of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
This exhibition explores Taiwan’s Mazu pilgrimage culture, showcasing associated cultural artifacts and stories of faith. Through this exhibition, visitors are invited to join the pilgrimage procession and experience Taiwan's most unique cultural tradition, walking a path blessed by Mazu’s protection.
