“Fashion Tales” - Su-chen Chu Solo Exhibition

2025.10.07 - 2026.01.07

The EVERRICH Foundation, dedicated to promoting Taiwanese culture and art, presents this textile art exhibition featuring works by Professor Su-chen Chu. Centered on the discourse of contemporary sustainable fashion, the exhibition reimagines textiles not merely as materials for clothing, but as carriers of cultural symbols and environmental awareness. “Fashion Tales” - Su-chen Chu Solo Exhibition stems from the artist’s long-term observation and internalization of the classic aesthetics of international luxury brands. The term “物語” (ものがたり, or Fashion Tales) is a Japanese word meaning story, narrative, or legend. Through layering, collage, and stitching diverse textile materials, Chu transforms fabrics into artworks that embody both visual impact and metaphorical depth.

Su-chen Chu is a Professor in the Department of Visual Arts at National Pingtung University, as well as a member of the Public Art Review Committee (公共藝術審議會) of the Pingtung County Government, a committee member of the Public Art Foundation (公共藝術基金會), and a board member of the Culture Foundation (文化基金會). She holds a PhD in Fine Arts from National Taiwan Normal University and has long specialized in fiber and textile art. Chu is known for weaving together fashion symbols with the language of contemporary art, creating a distinctive aesthetic context. Her works have been showcased in numerous domestic and international exhibitions and are highly acclaimed in both the art and education fields for their unique female perspective, cultural reflections, and craftsmanship.
