Supporting International Coastal Cleanup Day! EVERRICH Joins Hands with Suppliers and Consumers to Protect Taiwan’s Marine Ecology
2025.09.20

This year, EVERRICH Duty Free Shop once again took part in the 2025 International Coastal Cleanup Day, initiated by Ocean Conservancy, echoing UN SDG 14: “Conserve and Sustainably Use the Oceans, Seas, and Marine Resources for Sustainable Development.” Multiple beach cleanups and crab protection activities were held across Taiwan, engaging not only EVERRICH employees but also members, families, friends, and business partners. More than 800 participants took part, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability rooted at Taiwan’s gateway to the world. A total of 1,119 kilograms of waste were collected, including unusual items such as circuit boards, KTV membership cards, and syringes.

At the Linkou Coast cleanup, volunteers explained different types of marine debris to help children grasp the importance of environmental protection through hands-on experience. More than 200 EVERRICH employees and family members participated and they were joined by the principal, teachers, students, and parents of Wu Liao Elementary School in Sanxia, as well as members of the public who registered through the Ministry of Environment’s coastal adoption platform. The activity became a cross-generational practice in environmental education. Meanwhile, a large-scale cleanup at Beidi in Bali, New Taipei, initiated by the Taipei Sales Department, brought together community residents and EVERRICH members. With 480 participants in total, it further showcased the positive impact employees can create.

In addition, EVERRICH partnered for the first time with Suntory, Japan’s largest spirits brand, to co-host a cleanup at Fengzhengping (風箏坪) in Wanli, New Taipei. Employees and partners joined forces, extending ESG collaboration beyond Taiwan’s borders while reinforcing shared commitments to sustainability and community care.

Beyond beach cleanups, EVERRICH has also expanded its marine conservation efforts to ecological protection. The company took part in the “Crab Guardian Action (護蟹俠客行動)” organized by the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration in Ludao. During the breeding season of the red apple crab (Metasesarma aubryi), volunteers helped safely guide egg-bearing female crabs across roads to the shore for spawning, preventing roadkill and safeguarding the island’s precious ecosystem.

Held annually on the third Saturday of September, International Coastal Cleanup Day encourages global participation in tackling marine debris pollution. As an island nation, Taiwan shares a collective responsibility for ocean conservation. Guided by the values of Integrity, Professionalism, Innovation, and Public Welfare, and a corporate culture of giving back to the community, EVERRICH has long been a champion of public welfare and environmental protection. In 2024 alone, employees organized nearly 570 volunteer activities and devoted more than 50,000 hours of their personal time, demonstrating through action their shared recognition of and passion for public welfare and environmental stewardship. Looking ahead, EVERRICH will continue to embody the spirit of altruism, working hand in hand with partners and consumers. Starting from Taiwan’s gateway, the company strives to showcase to the world Taiwan’s unwavering commitment to environmental conservation.
