EVERRICH Recognized for Advancing Sustainability and Inclusion, Building a Green Gateway and a Friendly Workplace
2025.09.11
Facing global challenges of climate change and sustainable development, EVERRICH Duty Free Shop, serving travelers at Taiwan’s gateway, has for the first time independently completed the ISO 14064-1 greenhouse gas inventory for its Taoyuan International Airport duty free store. The verification was certified by the international third-party organization, the British Standards Institution (BSI), demonstrating EVERRICH’s commitment to carbon reduction and sustainability externally, while internally creating a “people-centered” and friendly workplace environment. Today (11), EVERRICH was awarded the Silver Award at the Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards, underscoring its role as a leader in sustainability within the travel retail industry.

EVERRICH has long promoted CSR and ESG initiatives. It is the first department store and retail enterprise in Taiwan to publish an ESG Report, and the first travel retailer worldwide to obtain certification for its sustainability reporting. Although not required by law, EVERRICH is voluntarily completing carbon inventories for all 13 of its sites in Taiwan this year. The Nankan Logistics Building (南崁保稅倉庫) has been verified for two consecutive years, and in doing so has reduced nearly 300 metric tons of carbon emissions. At Taoyuan International Airport, its duty free operations are actively aligned with the airport’s overall sustainability strategy, implementing carbon reduction measures such as direct sourcing and supporting local revitalization projects, directly contributing toward the goal of a greener gateway for travel retail.

In addition, EVERRICH places diversity, inclusion, and talent sustainability at the core of its practices. The company’s diversity and inclusion programs employ persons with disabilities and Indigenous employees at levels far exceeding legal requirements. It has also hired more than 300 new immigrants and Southeast Asian interns, showcasing its inclusiveness and capacity for cultural integration. At the same time, EVERRICH promotes a company-wide volunteer culture, providing long-term support to orphanages, nursing homes, and other social welfare organizations. Recognized with the Badge of Accredited Healthy Workplace by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the HR Asia Best Companies to Work For in Asia Award, and the honor of Outstanding Internship Employer (優良實習廠商) by Taoyuan City, EVERRICH today also received the Silver Award at the Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards, making it the only travel retailer in Taiwan to earn this distinction, and demonstrating its tangible achievements in advancing sustainability and inclusiveness.

EVERRICH emphasizes that achieving net zero is a shared global goal. Since its founding 30 years ago, the company has remained true to its original aspiration and innovative spirit, upholding the values of integrity, professionalism, innovation, and philanthropy, along with an altruistic vision of public service and social benefit. Moving forward, EVERRICH will deepen its sustainability practices and take concrete actions to enhance the overall service quality and international ranking of Taiwan’s airports. By doing so, it seeks to build a globally competitive gateway for Taiwan, foster corporate growth in parallel with employee well-being, and cultivate a warm workplace culture that drives lasting positive impact on society.
